MLL Series NonCogging
MLL motors philosophy: The physical principle that lies in MLL motors consists in the absence of teeth in the stators in such a way that there is no reluctance variation in the 360° motor rotation. There are many advantages given by the absence of slots that improve the motor performance. A brief summary would be: No motor cogging. Magnets do not have a preferential situation of static balance compared to classic stators with teeth. The ripple torque is minimized because the magnetic flow is not modulated by the stator teeth and consistently the value of the torque constant Kt is constant in every rotation point of rotor before stator. As a matter of fact motor efficiency increases. Current fluctuations due to cogging and ripple disappear, and so, losses derived from it. Cu filling factor is much bigger because all its space is occupied by this one and it has not to be shared by polar teeth. - Almost no losses in magnets because of Foucault currents produced by stator teeth in magnets disappearing, getting a better torque. Absence of heat spots produced by Foucault current permits magnets to work at high speed without reducing field in the magnetic field or even risk of demagnetization. It does not require a very complex control. It is avoided that control compensates cogging effect and so the driver can be more economical, having a better motor position, because the 360°profile rotor rotation does not present any unstable balance position.
